Belfast Maskers Seek Play Readers for Staged Readings

February 27th, 2011

Belfast Maskers is opening its 24th season with four staged readings on March 24, 25, 31, and April 1. Those interested in performing a play, without the commitment of memorizing lines, are invited to attend auditions on Saturday, March 5, 10 A.M. at Belfast Maskers Waterfront Theater, 43 Front Street.

Readings will include “Inherit the Wind” by by Jerome Lawrence and Robert Edwin Lee, a topical piece that resonates in our age of political and theological scrutiny; a selection of David Ives’ edgy, profound, and extremely funny short plays; and a production of “Remember the Thorntons” by Horton Foote presented by Belfast’s senior college, coordinated by Charlotte Herbold. The performed readings will also take place at the Theater on Front Street.

Coordinator Erik Perkins can be reached for more details via email: maskers@erikperkins.com, or by calling (207)592-2601.

Belfast Maskers is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing quality theater for, and with, the community since 1987.
