Please note the following date change for Steel Magnolias auditions. The Maskers’ second production, Steel Magnolias, will cast for six women, ages 17-70+. Auditions will be held Saturday, March 17, from 10 a.m. until noon at the First Church in Belfast. Production dates are April 19-21 and April 27-29 in Belfast and Searsport. Auditions for Staged Readings of New Works will be held Wednesday, February 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the First Church in Belfast (the First Church has a clock belfry; enter through Spring St. entrance). Limited rehearsing, all ages welcome. There will be many opportunities to be cast and participants may be in more than one play. Staged Readings of New works will be performed two nights in Belfast (Waldo County Shrine Club, 20 Northport Avenue) and two nights in Searsport at Union Hall (the town hall). Various directors; plays will be selected from a pool of submissions. Performances: March 16-17 (at 7 p.m. at the First Church in Belfast) and March 23-24 (at 7 p.m. at Searsport Union Hall). All plays are under two hours.

Please not there is no Wednesday read-through of the material.

Cast requirements: Anne 12-16; Marialla 50 plus; Mathew 50 plus; Diana 12-16; Gilbert 12-16; Josie and Ruby 12-16; and two more boys same ages. This show will likely tour to Searsport and possibly Castine and perform in Belfast in Dec. 9,10,11,16,17,18. For more info: 505 0199.
