2012 Maskers Auditions

This is the current audition schedule for our 25th Anniversary Season. We will add upcoming audition dates and information as it is confirmed. If you are interested in working on lights, sets, sound, or other “back-stage” aspects of a production, please come to an audition to speak with us or see our Volunteers page. New faces are always welcomed and people with all levels of experience are enthusiastically encouraged to participate! The Maskers have a long tradition of staging high-quality productions and achieving such quality requires dedication and time commitments from all involved. The Maskers typically do not use understudies, so please be sure you are available for all performances before you consider auditioning.

Auditions for Staged Readings of New Works
Wednesday, February 29, 2012
6:30 – 8:30 p.m., First Church, 55 Spring Street, Belfast

Staged Readings of New works will be performed two nights in Belfast and two nights in Searsport. Plays will be selected from a pool of submissions and various directors will direct. Auditions: Wednesday, February 29 at 6:30, First Church in Belfast (Spring St. entrance of the church between Court and Church Streets, with the clock belfry). Limited rehearsing, all ages welcome. There will be many opportunities to be cast and participants may be in more than one play. Performances: March 16-17 (at 7 p.m. at the First Church in Belfast) and March 23-24 (at 7 p.m. at Searsport Union Hall). All plays are to be under two hours.

Auditions for Steel Magnolias
Saturday, March 17, 2012
10:00 a.m. – Noon

The Maskers’ second production, Steel Magnolias, will cast for six women, ages 17-70+. Auditions will be held Saturday, March 17, from 10 a.m. until noon at the First Church in Belfast (Spring St. entrance of the church between Court and Church Streets, with the clock belfry). Production dates are April 19-21 and April 27-29 in Belfast and Searsport.
